Trigger Warning: Please aware the topics of murder and trauma will be discussed this hour.

I will be talking about a real murder, but not in a fun way. My sister was shot to death in my parents dining room, on a bright sunny August afternoon, when she was 14. My uncle was also found dead and law enforcement assumed that he was the murderer. Come learn what it is like to be a co-victim (a person who was very close to someone who was murdered–or someone who murdered another person). You think you understand murder. Trust me. You don’t. You’ll think differently about every instance of gun violence, from now on.

00:00 (12:00 am) - After the Big One Nuclear War on the Prairies w/Walter

Trigger Warning: Please aware the topic of nucler holocaust will be discussed this hour.

This documentary really hits the reality on the head for that time period. If we launched our bombers that were filled with nuclear cruise missiles we all knew we only had a few minutes to live afterwards.

This film deals straightforwardly with the consequences of a nuclear attack for the Canadian Prairies. The Prairies are singled out because of their proximity to huge stockpiles of intercontinental ballistic missiles located in North Dakota. Scenes include a visit to a missile base and to an emergency government bunker in Manitoba. A doctor, a farmer and a civil defence coordinator provide different perspectives on nuclear war. Although the film focuses on one region, it provides a model for people everywhere who would like to know more about their own situation but don’t know what questions to ask.
