Agenda - Gaza: Journalists Under Fire

Tonight, our friend Sean Edward St Heart will be hosting be hosting. We will be watching and discussing a powerful new documentary by Robert Greenwald that exposes Israel’s war on journalism through the lives of Palestinian reporters killed in Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, at least 178 journalists have been killed—more than in both World Wars combined.

The film tells the stories of Belal Jadallah, a beloved media advocate killed after being denied safe passage; Heba Al-Abadla, a radio host and women’s rights activist killed alongside her daughter and family; and Ismail al-Ghoul, a fearless Al Jazeera journalist killed in a targeted strike. It also features Sabrine Al-Abadla, Heba’s sister, who lost 57 relatives in a single airstrike and now bravely shares her story from under siege.

As the world looks away, we must not stay silent. Journalism is not a crime. Telling the truth should not be a death sentence.
