Pacifica is a listener-funded California not-for-profit corporation with assets valued at over $120 million. It is the oldest independent non-commercial media network in the United States. Pacifica owns and manages five noncommercial FM radio stations in five of the top ten media markets, with signals potentially reaching over 60 million listeners.

About 20 years ago Pacifica listeners banded together and won a lawsuit that allowed listeners to become members and to embark in an experiment in media democracy. As you might imagine - corrupt individuals have worked overtime to undermine the project and seize power.
