Agenda: Deep Dive: Entering Ellul’s Technological Society - Session Two

During this second Zoom session on this topic, we will once again be taken through a summary — with commentary — of more of Jacques Ellul’s most famous book, The Technological Society, led by Laurie Johnson, Professor of Political Science with a specialization in political philosophy. This will involve a much deeper plunge into Ellul’s thought, and we will further explore the relevance of his ideas to the problems we face today — including the rise of AI — as we live in a world increasingly shaped, and often dominated, by technology.

Don’t miss this! This should open the door to more thoughtful conversation!

NOTE: Tonight we will watch and discuss the videos on chapters four, five and six.

Here is an online PDF of Jacques Ellul’s book, The Technological Society.
