On June 19, 1865, slaves in Galveston, Texas received the news of their long-awaited freedom—the liberation that promised dreams no longer out of reach for future Black generations in America. Juneteenth was born, but the struggles of the newly freed persisted, often at the hands of White Christians manipulating scripture to justify their oppressive actions. Ironically, Black populations resiliently clung to that same faith as their lifeline to liberty and justice. With the insightful expertise of genealogists, historians, pastors, activists, and living ancestors of Texas slaves, the documentary JUNETEENTH: FAITH & FREEDOM explores the history of our nation’s newest federal holiday and the complicated intersection of slavery, racism, and faith.

Wallis says that it is time to call out genuine Christianity and reject White Christian Nationalism–inviting all who can be persuaded to reject and help dismantle a false gospel that propagates white supremacy and autocracy. He states that we need to embrace authentic faith and help those who are oblivious, stuck, and captive to the ideology and idolatry of White Christian Nationalism that is leading us to such great danger. The interview is conducted by Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali who is himself a Muslim.

Jim Wallis wrote his new book not only for Christians but for all faith traditions, and even those with no faith at all. When we see a civic promotion of fear, hate, and violence for the trajectory of our politics, we need a civic faith of love, healing, and hope to defeat it. And that must involve all of us-religious or not.

Toni Cade Bambara famously said “the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” A true artist does much more than make things beautiful, although The Redneck certainly does want more beauty in the world. Really, an artist’s role is to illuminate our world. It is not merely to entertain us, but to challenge us to imagine what might be.

Tom Neilson does that, and much more.

Tom comes from a rural background with deep farming roots. He is a musician, an activist, a spoken word artist, and a baseball player. I know Tom personally, and I promise you will want to join this one live so you can engage him in conversation.

Jeff Einstein is a man who the New York Times once referred to as “the Mick Jagger of digital media”, but who now describes himself as a “former digital media pioneer turned digital apostate.” During the interview, Jeff warns us against the danger of a default meta-addiction to all things media and all things digital, which brings about an undeniable decline in the quality of life across all meaningful metrics: spiritual, social, emotional, and physical. We will also learn about the Quality of Life Resistance Movement, The Rise of Huxwell, and how to reclaim yourself, your family, and your community from the institutional tyranny of digital addiction.

10:00 (10:00 am) - LIVE STREAM: People’s Conference for Palestine | Palestinian Resistance and the Path to Liberation

Since the early 20th century, the Palestinian national liberation movement has cultivated a resistance project that sought to unify the Palestinian popular classes around shared vision and strategy. The various conditions facing the Palestinian people in the struggle against imperialism and colonialism—from exile to occupation, from siege to political isolation—has required creative forms of resistance. At the heart of the strategy for Palestinian liberation is the conviction that the struggle must transform the whole of society on social, political, psychological, and spiritual levels for it to succeed. More recently, the Palestinian resistance has proven itself resourceful and resilient in the face of conspiracies to liquidate the Palestinian struggle through normalization. This discussion will explore the advancements made by the Palestinian resistance over the last decade, demonstrating the role of the popular cradle in sustaining the Palestinian struggle.
