Join us for an introduction to philosophy of the legendary Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy, who is widely considered to be the founder of Christian Anarchism. We will examine his profound existential journey from an aristocratic seeker to becoming a spiritual revolutionary who rejected state and church authority in favor of nonviolence and love.

Key philosophical and life stages discussed:

We will tell them to the study through watching of both portions of a video on his life and philosophy, as well as a short essay, which will all be followed by a discussion.

My Dinner with Andre is a 1981 American comedy-drama film directed by Louis Malle, and written by and starring André Gregory and Wallace Shawn as fictionalized versions of themselves sharing a conversation at Café des Artistes in Manhattan.
